Hello, Guten Tag, Bonjour, Hola, Kon’nichiwa, Ciao. Nice of you to stumble upon my blog dedicated to my book “Saving Scarlett”. The aim of this blog is to encourage and inspire you to go after your dreams and to know that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
In each season be it autumn, winter, spring and my personal favourite summer, life has its ups and downs and we all experience them at some point but within you is the ability to get through it.
Writing Saving Scarlett has been a long journey of over 10 years … YES over 10 YEARS!!! From the moment I started writing the book in my late teens using a pen and paper, to then typing it all up on the computer, to getting it published this year, I have experienced different seasons in between, some good, some tough, but all of it has been preparation for the release of this book. Although I rewrote a lot of it over the last three years, one of the changes being Scarlett’s age (she is now in her 20’s), the heart of the book has remained the same … it’s a book about love, acceptance and purpose. I wrote this book because I believe that these three things are so fundamental in our lives, they shape our identity. We all desire to know that we are loved, accepted and that we were born for a reason, for a purpose. I believe that knowing who you are is so important and it affects everything you do and how you do it. Maybe just maybe you are loved much more than you could imagine and that you are accepted with your flaws and all, and that you were indeed born for something much bigger than how you are living now … and no matter what situation you find yourself in as you are reading this … know that there is always a light at the end of each tunnel… Dare to hope, dare to dream … dream bigger … Dare to step out …
On that note, I leave you with one of my favourite quotes:
“The ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do” Steve Jobs
